There is a guide we will make mention of is about the Shaman character class in World of Warcraft. If you want to learn how to get the most out of playing a Shaman, pay more attention.
The Shamans are a mail-wearing support caster class. In particular, they are known for their buff giving totems, incredible Area of Effect healing, elemental spell casting and melee damage dealing.
The Shamans are a powerful class in their own right, but they gain their true utility through their effects on others. Their heroism or bloodlust ability, which buffs the raid's damage output considerably, can make the difference between a crushing defeat and breezy victory for a raid. And also the Shamans have a considerable weakness in their lack of any Crowd Control, stun or aggro wipe abilities. Although non-enhancement Shaman will generally carry shields, but it makes sense to keep an eye on aggro as there's little a Shaman can do to escape a difficult situation. In part, this is changing in Wrath of the Lich King, however, when they gain Hex, a spell transforms an enemy into a random helpless critter for a short period of time.
Elemental Shaman focuses on doing damage through their spells and fire totems. These spells do excellent burst damage, which make it a very good choice for PvP play. Their Frost Shock spell can deal a critical hit for thousands of damage, and it has the additional bonus effect of slowing the enemy. Shamans are excellent PvP support classes in addition for their totems like Earth-bind, which slows every enemy in a radius around it. That makes it perfect for BGs like Warsong Gulch, as it can slow down people pursuing the flag runner. The talented Totem of Wrath buffs a group's offensive spell casting capability significantly, making the Shaman a good member of a group.
Enhancement Shamans make use of dual-wielded weapons to inflict serious damage on their target. Their Wind-fury totem improves the effectiveness of all melee players in the group and the Shaman's individual damage dealing ability is quite considerable as well. Enhancement is the most time-efficient way to level your Shaman since it is less mana intensive than going the elemental route.
Restoration Shamans are excellent main and support healers, although their greatest strength relative to other classes is their Chain-heal ability. Chain-heal jump from person to person, healing each character with a considerable amount without taking too much mana. This makes it a very powerful raid ability, and raids that have a restoration Shaman supporting them will likely do far better than those without one. In smaller groups, spells like Earth Shield can help take the pressure off the Shaman, as it gives off substantial amounts of healing every time the person that the buff is on gets hit without taking up much mana.
As above, that's about the Shaman character within World of Warcraft. We hope you can make the most of this Shaman character through our detailed discussion. Good luck!
